Lake Silverwood Area

LAKE SILVERWOOD is at 3,350ft elevation and is located off Highway 138, 11 miles east of the I-15 or 24 miles northeast of San Bernardino from highways 18 and 138.  This provides easy access for Lake Arrowhead area homeowners.

The lake was formed by creating the man-made 249-foot Cedar Springs Dam. The lake has a surface area of 976 acres and has 13 miles of shoreline.

Silverwood Lake park has fun for all and features hiking trails, swimming beaches and designated areas for boating, water-skiing and fishing.  See below for details:

Boating: There is a marina with grocery items, ice, toys, swimming apparel, camping goods, and firewood.   A fleet of motorboats and patio boats, wet slips, and dry storage spaces are available for the monthly or nightly visitor.  Any size boat may be launched at the paved boat ramp, which offers 7 lanes.  The maximum lake speed limit is 35 mph.
Fishing: Lake Silverwood features trout, large mouth bass, catfish and bluegill. Fishing is permitted only during the posted park operating hours and is allowed off the dock!  Regular trout plants take place throughout the year. The marina provides California Department of Fish & Game fishing licenses, bait and tackle.  You can call the marina for the most recent fish report or call (562) 594-7268 for pre-recorded trout planting information.

Water Skiing: For water skiing or wake boarding, there is a launching ramp, boat and equipment rentals, and a store at the Marina.

Swimming and Picnics:  The park has 2 swimming beaches, and 4 picnic areas.  There are three picnic areas that can only be reached by boat.

Hiking: The Pacific Crest Trail passes through Silverwood Lake and offers spectacular hiking.  There is nearly 100 miles of paved and/or unpaved trails, 6 miles which are along the southern end of the lake.
